Former President Jerry John Rawlings (Rtd) is in Abuja, Nigeria as Guest Speaker at the Fifth Trust Annual Dialogue being organized by Media Trust Limited, publishers of Daily Trust, Sunday Trust and Aminiya newspapers.
A statement signed by Mr Victor Emmanuel Smith, Special Assistant and Director of Public Affairs for the former President said the Trust dialogue was an annual event, which brought together brilliant men and women of various backgrounds to speak on issues critical to the development of Africa.
This year’s event is being attended by Nigeria Vice-President, Chief Goodluck Jonathan and Former Heads of State, Generals I.B. Babangida and Abdul Salaam Abubakar.
Former President Rawlings, who will speak on the topic: “Challenges of Democracy in Africa” is accompanied by his wife Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings and Former Foreign Minister, Mr. James Victor Gbeho.
The Former President and his delegation will return to Accra over the weekend.
