Ghanaian musician Denning Edem Hotor known in showbiz circles as Edem Goget'em was part of a delegation that donated some relief items to the communities affected by the Akosombo Dam spillage, over the weekend.
The leader of the delegation for the donation was businessman Francis Kofi Kpolu, with support from lawyer Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe.
They presented items such as cement bags, mosquito nets, food stuff and other relief products to the traditional leaders and the member of parliament.
"When I saw the videos online, I knew that my people were in trouble but after my visit I realized that my people are in danger”.
“I could not control my emotions when I saw how homes have been destroyed, people’s businesses wiped out entirely and the most painful part was the lack of electricity because the electrical wires were in the water,” he Edem said after making the donation.
On his social media handles, he also appealed to the general public to offer hep to the victims of the dam spillage.
"I am officially inviting all friends, family, and fans to reach out to my home and my people our people who have become victims of the dam spillage. I promise you that the situation on the ground is more devastating than you would see online, It’s gonna be months unending for people to have their lives back," he wrote.
Edem was very grateful to Francis Kofi Kpolu, Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe and also Honorable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for their immense support to the affected communities.
The rapper finally disclosed that due to the challenges in the region, his annual festival, EdemFest slated for November 18, 2023 at Ho will be a free concert instead of a paid one.
