Milovan Rajevac and his Black Stars players will arrive back in Accra later on Monday to a warm reception with the Serbian confident the experience gained in Angola will help his side do much better at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Ghana failed in her bid to win a first Nations Cup in 28 years after a 1-0 loss to Egypt and while Rajevac nurses the pain of another loss in a Final, he wants to take the positives heading with the World Cup due to begin in June.
"Experience gained here will be crucial to our preparations at the World Cup," Rajevac told the Associated Press after Egypt dashed his hopes of becoming the first foreign coach to lift the Africa Cup of Nations title with Ghana. "We now have enough time to prepare."
"The young players are the future," he said. "But they cannot play on their own. Egypt beat us today because they have plenty of experience."
Rajevac will now turn his attention towards preparing his team for the World Cup.
He will be keen to sort out the international future of Portsmouth’s Kevin-Prince Boateng and also hope that injuries do not wreck his World Cup plans in the manner that it so badly affected his Nations Cup preparations.
