Rahim Ayew says he is in no hurry to play in Europe after catching the eye with some solid displays at the of African Nations Championship for Ghana.
Rahim, the eldest son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele is the only of three brothers to still be playing his football at home but insist he feels no pressure at this stage.
His younger brothers Andrea and Jordan are both on the books of Olympique Marseille.
"If the time comes, I will go to Europe. But until then I will work hard in the domestic league and wait for my break. There is no point in putting myself under pressure," he said.
Rahim does however feel the pressure of doing well in a Ghana shirt because of his family background.
His father Abedi was a three-time African player of the year, his uncle Kwame was at one point second top goal scorer in Portugal and second top goal scorer for Ghana at the 1992 Olympics before going on to play for the Black Stars. Recently his brother Andrea captained the Ghana U-20 side to win the African Youth Championships in Rwanda.
Inevitably, Rahim knows that puts the spotlight on him and is determined to play a key part as Ghana bid to reach the final of the tournament reserved exclusively for home based players and stake a claim for himself.
He thinks the Senegal game will be the most difficult for Ghana yet in the competition but which ever way it ends, Rahim insist he will leave Ivory Coast with his reputation and confidence enhanced.
"When I was called up there were those who thought I was simply benefiting from my father's status. It put a lot of pressure on me but I am happy that when I have played I have proved I am a decent footballer on my own merit."
The 21-year old says he took a lot of inspiration from Andrea when he was called up for the Nations Cup but is in no doubt which one of the three brothers is the better player.
"It is Jordan who is at Marseille. He is a bit like Cristiano Ronaldo. He has height, pace a lot of tricks and great ball control."
