Over four hundred and fifty pupils at the Natriku DA R/C Basic School in the Shai Osudoku District of the Greater have received study materials ranging from exercise books, pens, pencils, sanitary pads, rulers, and book folders.
The donation from the MARILAK Foundation will significantly enhance the educational experience and contribute to the learning successes of students.
Access to relevant educational materials promotes easy understanding, encourages active student-teacher engagement, and supports various learning styles.
However, several schools in many areas of Ghana bear the brunt of the inadequacy of these essentials, resulting in poor student performance.
As an intervention, the President of the MARILAK Foundation, Willington Amankwah Marfo indicated that the gesture will motivate students to excel academically.
“I encourage them to learn diligently and obey their teachers. There is the power of education in transforming lives, and I urge students to embrace this opportunity especially one like the donation we have made,” he said.
The president promised scholarships to two brilliant students from the Senior High School (JHS) through to university once they successfully pass their Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E).
President Willington Amankwah Marfo presented a cash donation and calculators to exceptional students who attained the first position in their respective classes at junior high classes.
Headmistress of Natriku Basic School, Euphemia N.O. Ayi expressed gratitude for the gesture.
The donations form part of the foundation's annual Book Donation Drive to underprivileged schools and students.
