Reverend Godfried Bamfo, Koforidua District Minister of Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), has called on public servants to serve their society with sincerity and honesty.
He said the death of Jesus Christ was a historical fact and those who professed to believe must emulate Him, who served with all humility and compassion to uplift the weak.
Delivering the sermon on Good Friday, Rev. Bamfo noted that the historical fact of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ had been challenged by some people, yet it had never been validated that He did not die.
“This must remind all and sundry that there is a Supreme Being who will judge us especially those entrusted with positions in society,” he added.
Rev. Bamfo said the occasion was not to be used for merry-making but to reflect on the sacrifice and love Jesus Christ exhibited to die such a painful and shameful death on the cross for mankind.
He urged people in positions of trust and taking care of the well being of people to understand that Jesus Christ whose sake Easter was being celebrated showed dedication, love and compassion that must be emulated.
