Provident Insurance Limited Company, has supported a free cancer screening program organised by Breast Care International (BCI) in collaboration with the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) on World Cancer Day.

The initiative, themed "Close the Care Gap," was held in Santasi, Ashanti Region, and aimed to raise awareness about cancer prevention, detection, and treatment.

The event provided comprehensive cancer screenings, including eye, breast, prostate, cervical, brain, lung, and other selected cancer diseases to participants in Santasi. Distinguished guests such as Simon Osei-Mensah, Ashanti Regional Minister; Dr Samuel Amanama, Consultant Urologist and Sexopathologist, Dr Augustine Tawiah, Consultant Gynaecologist, Ejisumanhemaa, Nana Yaa Asantewaa I, and other dignitaries graced the occasion.

Kenneth Doh, Managing Director of Provident Insurance, reiterated the company's commitment to community well-being.

"As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, Provident Insurance has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Breast Care International (BCI) to support their efforts in the fight against breast cancer in Ghana.

"Through this collaboration, we aim to raise awareness, facilitate early detection, and support treatment initiatives. Participating in World Cancer Day strengthens our commitment to stand with Breast Care International and the global community to combat cancer”.

Prof. Jeff Dunn, AO, President of the Union for International Cancer Control, highlighted the disparities in cancer care outcomes due to various societal factors and commended local efforts to address these challenges.

Dr. Beatrice Wiafe-Addai, CEO of the Peace and Love Hospitals and President of Breast Care International, stressed the importance of education and enhancing primary healthcare in Ghana, while applauding Provident Insurance for its unwavering support.
