Former Ebusua Dwarfs coach, Professor JK Mintah has cooled down rumours of taking over the Hearts of Oak job.
Club sources had leaked out news that the University of Cape Coast (UCC) psychology lecturer held fruitful talks with members of the technical and management team of the Phobians in a meeting at the Cape Coast Hotel the night before Hearts' 4-0 thumping of Heart of Lions in the FCPPL last Wednesday.
But Mintah, who also serves as team psychologist for the Black Stars, has denied knowledge of such a meeting.
"I don't know anything about that," the coach who watched Hearts defeat Lions at the Robert Mensah Stadium on Wednesday says.
Prior to the appointment of immediate past coach Herbert Addo a year ago, the Phobians made contacts with Mintah who declined taking up the job with his work at the university one of his hindrances.
"I'm still here at UCC. The distance (between Cape Coast and Accra) is too much and I think l want to stay here for a while," he said.
Asked if he would be tempted when there is a hard-to-turn-down offer, Prof. Mintah replied: "I don't know"..
Club sources still maintain that Prof. Mintah could take up the job at the end of the current season despite his open denial.
Ex-goalkeeper Edward Ansah currently acts as stopgap coach for Hearts.
