Professor Martin Morgan Tuuli has been appointed as the new Deputy Rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
The 41-year-old Deputy Rector whose appointment takes effect from July 1.
He is widely known for his outstanding academic and researcher and, therefore, is expected to take the research and academic leadership of GIMPA to another pedestal.
Prof Tuuli prior to his appointment was the Dean of the GIMPA Business School.
He has over 15 years of professional and research experience as a distinguished award-winning scholar and leader in academia.
The academic garnered his wealth of experience from Academic and professional institutions in Ghana (GIMPA, KNUST and Taysec), Hong Kong (University of Hong Kong) , China (Chongqing University), UK (University of Westminster, Loughborough University) and other parts of the world.
As a consultant, Professor Tuuli has undertaken project audit, procurement management, capacity building, stakeholder consultation, project design and implementation, and the financial management and control of projects/programmes.
The man who was listed in the 2019 list of 100 most influential persons from Northern Ghana has managed significant research projects as Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-Investigator (Co-I).
He has won research funding through competition and peer assessments, worth about $500,000.
These include the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) grant on “Social Sustainability through Stakeholder Management in Urban Construction Projects in China”, the Loughborough University Maiden Developing Future Leaders Programme, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) grant on “Implementing and Maintaining an Effective Continuous Improvement Culture within a Contracting Organisation” and the Research Grants Council (Hong Kong) grant on “Managing Boundaries to Enhance Co-production in Complex Construction Projects”.
Prof Tuuli is well published with 24 peer-reviewed journal papers, 30 conference papers, 2 book chapters, a book proposal under review and several consultancy reports.
He has published in top journals in his field including; Team Performance Management Journal, International Journal of Project Management, Construction Economics and Management, Journal of Construction Engineering and Management, Journal of Management in
Engineering, International Journal of Management of Projects in Business, etc, with his research papers cited over 995 times.
Professor Morgan Tuuli will serve for a period of three academic years in line with the 2015 GIMPA statutes.
