A Microbial Ecologist and Social Activist, Sulemana Issifu has outlined measures that if adopted and implemented by the government, Ghanaians will have the nation they have long desired.

He argued that Ghana faces a myriad of challenges, emphasising that entrusting anyone with the responsibility of leading the nation would inevitably yield a spectrum of opinions regarding the issues that require resolution and immediate attention.

Speaking on JoyNews’ Newsfile's ChangeSpeakers Series IV on Saturday, Mr Issifu expressed his belief that fostering the development of Ghana necessitates each individual working diligently towards their own visions for the country.

“So if you are a lawyer, you have to work to make the judiciary a clean system. If you are an environmental scientist, you have to work to make Ghana’s environment worthy of consideration and if you are a medical doctor, you have to work to improve the health delivery system in Ghana,” he said.

He maintained that if everybody should work in their respective areas of interest collectively, we would have the Ghana that we desire.

On the back of this, the Microbial Ecologist and Social Activist outlined measures that if implemented by the government, these measures hold the promise of fostering significant development within the nation.

He underscored his desire for a Ghana where policymaking is guided by science and research rather than being swayed by political sentiment or solely driven by political considerations.

Also, Mr. Issifu expressed his vision for a Ghana in which public institutions operate with the utmost professionalism, prioritising the strategic interests of the state over the interests of any individual.

Furthermore, he envisioned a Ghana where young people can achieve their aspirations, and ambitions without having political godfathers so that opportunities are only given to people who know someone somewhere up there.
