President J.A. Kufuor on Sunday attended church service at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Accra to thank God for his miraculous escape from an accident last Wednesday.
The President wore a simple cream African top over a black pair of trousers, accompanied by his wife, Mrs Theresa Kufuor, who also, wore a cream African cloth, other members of his immediate family and his friends, most of whom wore white attires to signify their gratitude to God.
The First Family received prayers from the congregation, led by Rev Monsignor Seth Osei-Agyeman, for long life and continued divine intervention.
The congregation which sang praise songs, including “I will lift up your name higher; Oh Great Jehovah", also prayed for Ghana and God's continued intervention in the affairs of the nation.
The first and second Bible readings were taken from Malachi 3:19-20 and 2 Thessalonians 3:7-12.
Delivering the homily based on Luke 21:5-19, Rev Monsignor Osei-Agyeman said every tragedy was an opportunity for growth and joy and asked the First Family, the congregation and the rest of Ghanaians never to give up when confronted with difficulties in life.
He said with endurance and the help of the Almighty God, every difficulty would be overcome and expressed the hope that the Lord would protect His own, to the extent that not a single hair on their heads would go off without His permission.
At the end of the service, well-wishers and members of the congregation took turns to wish the President and his family well and divine protection.
