The Ghana Prisons Service in Accra
President Nana Akufo-Addo has freed 808 prisoners on the recommendation of the Prisons Service Council.
A statement from the Prisons Service Thursday said the President exercised his powers under Article 72 of the 1992 Constitution and in consultation with the Council of State.
The freed prisoners range from first time offenders, seriously ill inmates, very old prisoners among others.
