President Akufo-Addo, flanked by his wife, children and other family members, has on behalf of the government wished all Ghanaians a Happy Easter celebration.
Easter is a Christian festival and cultural holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial following his crucifixion.
The president expressed hope that "this celebration will bring healing to our land, and cleanse us of our iniquities, through the blood spilled on the cross."
President Akufo-Addo emphasized that during this season, Ghanaians should drive carefully on the roads and keep the nation in prayers at all times while enjoying the season.
“So, let us, again, enjoy our Easter Conventions, parties and picnics, and the traditional Kwahu Easter festivities.
“May the celebration of the Crucifixion and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ give birth to a new season of faith, hope, growth, prosperity, reconciliation and sacrifice for everybody in our beloved country and in the world.”
