In a gesture of support and encouragement for educational advancement, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo made a personal donation of laptops and desktops to the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) during a special congregation and the commissioning of the China Phase II project on Saturday, July 27, 2024.

The donation was part of the president's broader commitment to enhancing the educational infrastructure and resources available to students and faculty at UHAS.

The event, held on the university's main campus in Ho, was marked by the commissioning of the China Phase II project, a development initiative aimed at expanding the university's facilities and improving its capacity to provide quality education and research in health and allied sciences.

During the ceremony, President Akufo-Addo expressed his gratitude to the university for bestowing upon him an honorary degree of Doctor of Science. He remarked, "I am deeply honoured by this recognition and grateful to the University of Health and Allied Sciences for this distinguished honour. It is a testament to the work we are doing to improve healthcare and education in our country."

The president's donation of laptops and desktops is expected to significantly enhance the university's technological resources, enabling students and faculty to access modern educational tools and conduct research more effectively. This contribution aligns with the government's broader agenda to integrate technology into education and bridge the digital divide in Ghana's educational institutions.

President Akufo-Addo's involvement in the event and his generous donation underscore his administration's dedication to promoting education and healthcare in Ghana. As the university continues to grow and expand, such contributions are invaluable in ensuring that it remains at the forefront of health education and research in the region.
