There is this Malawian axiom that says: if lying can kill the liar as quick as the bile of a crocodile kills when it is consumed, then society would be free from naked envy.
Power outages that was described as a sign of gross incompetence under the Kufuor administration is today being termed as “purely accidental”. ooh God, please have mercy upon Mercy Oppong, wai?
Pushing Ghana to the brink
Just for the sake of electoral victory so they can have access to state coffers and engage in plain-faced looting, the saint Atta-Mills-led NDC applied every diabolic tip they came across. The days before the 2008 elections were filled with NDC sweet promises. Plain lies were also dished out to the populace in heavy doses.
But my worry was rather on activities of some people within the NDC to that nearly pushed our nation into full-blown civil strife. And here, I will single out James Agyenim-Boateng, Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa, Alhassan S. Suhiyini, Raymond archer and a media outlet I have personally christened, ‘Ghana’s radio Rwanda (Radio Gold) for special mention.
Agyenim-Boateng and Okudzeto-Ablakwa took turns on radio gold, during the day, and whipped-up public hatred for NPP. NDC thugs who called into these programmes openly boasted of how they have received training in weapon handling and how they are good at taking aim at targets and firing with clinical accuracy!!!
This programme was being aired in day time between the second round of voting and the final round in Tain. During that same period, Raymond Archer also used to host a late night programme called ‘election forensics’. It was on this programme that people’s private telephone conversations were played.
Murderous power outages
During the Kufuor administration, the Akosombo dam completely dried up, oil price hit the all-time high of $147 per barrel, food prices hit the roof across the globe and the mighty world financial crisis hit the crescendo!!
Mr. Kofi Adda, who was the energy minister at the time, came under so much pressure that he had to be relieved of his position at a point. Kufuor, in a Radio/TV broadcast, announced to the nation measures the government had put in place to lessen the burden of the ordinary Ghanaian. But a natural occurrence as draught which resulted in the drying up of the Akosmbo Dam was something a president obviously couldn’t do anything about.
The nation therefore had to be put under load-shedding regime with all its negative effects on industry, commerce, domestic lives and general well-being of the ordinary person.
However, the opposition Atta-Mills-led NDC, at the time, simply wouldn’t take whatever the government said about the crisis. As usual, Kwesi Pratt and his ‘chop-chop’ charlatans were shouting from the roof-tops, how incompetent Kufuor administration was and its inability to fore-see the crisis occurring. They claimed there is a 10year pattern where the Akosombo Dam dries up and that “there are people being paid to churn out such data but the government had simply failed to listen”.
Unrepentant anti-establishment bigots
These unrepentant anti-establishment bigots were provided with much more lethal ammunition to attack the government with, when emergency containerized power plants brought in by the government to augment our energy generation capacity, was erroneously described as “toy machines” by the good old ‘Charlie Brobs’ (Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobbey).
Those were the days Kwesi Pratt exhibited his prowess in environmental engineering by telling the Kufuor administration how electricity can be generated from the heaps of rubbish which abounds in our country, but rather ironically, this very same Kwesi Pratt is a close adviser to saint Atta-Mills but the heaps of filth Kufuor failed to turn into electricity have now developed into mountains and are causing fatalistic cholera outbreaks while the nation is now suffering from rather chronic simultaneous nation-wide black-outs!!!
“Accidental nation-wide blackouts”
Now, not long ago, the wife of Inusah Fuseini died through child-birth at the police hospital, and saint Atta-Mills was jumping up-n-down ordering inquiry into the incident.
Today, this Inusah Fuseini, as an energy minister with oversight responsibility on electricity supply, is justifying rampant epileptic nation-wide power outages that are murdering patients on admission at intensive care units of our nation's health facilities. The death of 3 patients at the intensive care unit (ICU) of Komfo Anokye teaching hospital during the last nation-wide power outage is a clear example.
But rather Inusah Fuseini, who is the person charged with the responsibility to make sure this state institution actually functions, is terming such murderous acts as "purely accidental”. Now, if this behavior of saint Atta-Mills and his bunch of greedy bastards is not a classic case of unprecedented wickedness, madness, and incompetence, then someone out there please tell me what it is!!!
Joy Fm’s projections in-favour of NDC
During the 2008 elections, it was 'joy-fm' that called the elections in favour of NDC in what the station term as their "projections”. This announcement declaring NDC as winners was made by Kojo Opong-Nkrumah with assistance from Matilda Asante from the studios of 'joy-fm'.
It was on that very same day that NDC thugs were called upon, from the studios of Ghana’s radio Rwanda (radio gold) to invade EC with guns, machete and other murder weapons. But in their display of abject hypocrisy, these juvenile-delinquent-anarchists now have the effrontery to complain of being treated unfairly by this very same 'multi-media'?
"The Atta-Mills-led government boycotting critical media houses is not a sign of good democratic governance"(BBC Network Africa, 22/3/12 @5:45).Effectively, the hypocrisy, intolerance and pretentiousness of saint Atta-Mills and his bunch of equally reckless misinformation juveniles-delinquents have now gone international and this is an UNPRECEDENTED blow to Ghana’s image as the beacon of democracy on the African continent.
