Vice President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday said Government was committed to realize the Savanna Accelerated Development Authority, which was targeted at reducing poverty in the three Northern regions in Ghana.
He welcomed development assistance to help the government efforts to ensure macro economic stability to meet the expectation of Ghanaians, in line with the its manifesto before it assumed power.
In that regard, the Vice President praised Demark for its development assistance to Ghana in the area of water and health provision, expressing the need for deeper ties between the two nations.
Vice President Mahama made the remarks in Accra, when the Danish Ambassador to Ghana, Mr Stig Barlyg, called on him at his office at the Castle, in Osu, Accra.
The Vice President said the economic challenges faced by Ghana also provided opportunities for collaboration for improved lives of the people of Ghana.
Mr Barlyg traced the ties between the two nations to the colonial era and reiterated Denmark's readiness for development co-operation.
He commended Ghana on its recent peaceful elections.
