Mr Anane Adjei, Regional Research Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Brong Ahafo, has urged political activists to make statements that would help to strengthen democracy in the country.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency Mr Anane Adjei expressed regret that many political activists have made some statements in the past that have tendered to disintegrate the society.
Politics, he said should be practiced in a way as to unite the various ethnic religious and other groupings to help develop the country.
Mr Anane Adjei urged supporters of the NDC to be cautious of the propaganda being peddled by the party's opponents saying such propaganda was only aimed at disintegrating the party.
He denied assertions from the NDC's opponents that the party did not have any plan towards improving "Zongo" communities, saying that it was the NDC government that established the University for Development Studies (UDS) and the School of Medical Sciences, both in the Northern Region.
"Former President J. J. Rawlings used his gift money to support the establishment of the University, which indicates that the NDC government has a good vision for the people of the North and the 'Zongo' communities", he said.
He called on party faithful to support Professor John Evans Atta Mills and the party's parliamentary candidates to wrestle power from the NPP in 2008.
