Ghana Police Service collected 15 Gold, 16 Silver and nine Bronze medals, to win this year's Security Services Sports Association (SESSA) Games which ended at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra on Friday.
Customs, Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) came second with 13 Gold, six Silver and six Bronze, Ghana Armed Forces took the third position with 11 Gold, 17 Silver and 18 Bronze, Ghana Immigration Service placed fourth with nine Gold, six Silver and five Bronze, the fifth position went to Ghana Prisons Service with five Gold, six Silver and eight Bronze while Ghana National Fire Service took the sixth position with two Gold, two Silver and seven Bronze
The one-week games under the theme: Enhancing closer unity through sports was sponsored by Stanbic Bank.
Alhaji Aliu Mahama, Vice President, in an address read for him, praised the security services for their contribution towards the development of sports in the country.
He expressed the hope that the sustenance of the games would continue to see Ghana enjoy more support from the security services.
The Vice President appealed to corporate bodies to emulate Stanbic Bank and contribute to the sponsorship of the games in the years ahead.
