The Police say they have begun investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man allegedly killed by a lion at the Accra Zoo.
According to the Service, the necessary forensic examinations have been conducted at the scene.
“After the necessary forensic examination of the scene, the body was removed and has been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.”

The Ghana Police Service added that it will liaise with Accra zoo's Management to prevent its reoccurrence.
“The Police are working with the Management of the zoo and the Forestry Commission to get to the bottom of this unfortunate incident,” the Service added.
The lion killed the middle-aged man at the facility on Sunday, August 28.
The Forestry Commission in a press statement said the intruder (victim) was spotted around the premises on Sunday at about 12 noon after he managed to scale the zoo’s security fence.
According to the statement, he was attacked and injured ‘within the inner fencing of the enclosure’.
