Police reinforcement has been sent to Kete-Krachi in the Volta region to pre-empt any breach of the law following a court order stopping the installation of a new Muslim community chief by a faction.
Mr Paul Gyempe, Hohoe Divisional Police Commander, told the GNA that the situation was under control.
He said though a controversy among factions in the Muslim community at Kete-Krachi as to who was the rightful Chief was undecided and pending at the courts, a faction at the weekend planned to install a chief.
The Police, therefore, sought a court action on Friday to quash the intended installation and moved personnel from Hohoe and Ho to beef up security in the town to prevent any clashes among the factions.
He said no breach of the peace had been reported.
