The Police Service says it has introduced stringent measures to provide adequate security to Ghanaians ahead of the 2022 Easter celebrations.
This was announced in a press statement issued today and signed by its Director-General of Public Affairs, DCOP Kwesi Ofori.
According to the said statement, its National Operations, the MTTD, and the Intelligence Directorate are working to ensure that all persons who travel for the celebrations do so in safety.

It added it will also ensure that all events organised in various parts of the country are secured and incident-free.
“The Police Administration wishes to inform the public that stringent measures have been put in place to provide security coverage across the country for the Easter Celebrations.”
“All Regional Commands, with support from the National Operations, the MTTD, and the Intelligence Directorate are working to ensure that all events organised in various communities are secured and incident-free.”
The police in the press statement also said additional security arrangements have been made for the annual Kwahu Easter Celebrations.
“Additionally, security arrangements have been made for the celebrations in the Kwahu area to cover the paragliding event and other traditional Easter activities in Kwahu.”
Meanwhile, for the entire safety of the populace, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has also launched an initiative dubbed ‘Operation Prevent Fires, Save Lives, and Property’ to better protect the public during the period.
Head of Public Relations, Osafo Affum, in a statement noted that the campaign also seeks to prevent fire outbreaks and to bring the numbers recorded in the country to the barest minimum before, during and after the Easter Season.
