Police in Kumasi on Thursday killed two men suspected to be armed robbers after a fierce gun battle.
The robbers numbering six were alleged to have attacked drinking bar operators in Asokore Mampong in an attempt to rob them of their belongings.
Joy correspondent Akwasi Prempeh said the police patrol team responded positively to the distress calls from neighbours who were under siege from the armed robbers.
Asawase District Police Commander, DSP Andy George Kumah told Joy News the robbers opened fire on seeing the police which compelled them to return fire.
One of the suspects died on the spot and the other later passed away on the way to the hospital.The remaining four are being pursued.
DSP Kumah advised the community to be on the look out for individuals for individuals with gun shot wounds and report them immediately to the police.
