The police at Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region have arrested two suspected land guards who have been terrorizing residents at Tuobodom during a swoop.
The two, including one who escaped, are all natives of Bawku in the Upper East Region.
For some months now, residents of Fosukrom near Tuobodom, all suburbs of Techiman have been complaining about the activities of some land guards in the area.
Currently, two victims are responding to treatment at the holy family hospital after receiving gun shots from the land guards.
Ameyaw Adjei Kuffour, a 49-year-old Mason and a resident of Techiman with one of his apprentices Kwaa Takyi were both shot in the arm and back respectively.
The police upon a tip-off raided their homes retrieving guns, cartridges and other weapons.
Gariba Muniru, 36, was arrested with a pump action gun with eight rounds of cartridges in it.
The police also discovered 23 cartridges in a black polythene bag in his room.
Ibrahim Mumuni, a motor dealer also confessed being part of the team even though no ammunition was found in his home during the raid.
Police also found a pump action gun with 35AA cartridges in a black polythene, a jack knife, an axe and a pair of combat boot in 33-year-old Nasiru Issaku’s home.
