Police have arrested the 28-year-old Halim Banda, son of shipping and aviation magnate Alhaji Asuma Banda, for his alleged involvement in a shooting incident at an Accra night club on Sunday morning.
Halim Banda is said to have stormed into the Office, a pub behind the Police Headquarters in Accra and threatened to kill a businessman, Kiki Banson and popular radio presenter, Kofi Okyere Darko of Radio Gold, amidst firing of gunshots.
Halim who was declared wanted by the Violent Crime Unit of the Ghana Police Service on Monday was picked up by officers after a court hearing of another case where he has been cited for violent conduct.
Police Deputy Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department, Patrick Timbilla told Joy News Halim was way-laid at a court premises where he was due to appear in another case, an d effected his arrest after proceedings.
Halim did not resist arrest and police say he might have expected he would be picked up.
