The Premier League Board says media reports, claiming that the league champions would receive GHS 5,000 for winning the league are untrue.
Reports in the past week claimed that. new champions, Berekum Chelsea would be handed the amount for winning the Glo Premier League.
But PLB Chairman, Welbeck Abra-Appiah says that is not prize money for the champions.
"The PLB has not announced any amount for the champions. The reports out there are not from the PLB," he said on Sunday ahead of the trophy presentation to Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park.
"The prize for winning the league would be announced and handed over to the champions at the PLB Awards on August 13 in Accra."
Chelsea lifted their debut trophy after securing 57 points and maintaining a 10-point gap at the top of the table following 30 rounds of matches.
