Zoomlion Ghana limited commemorated this year’s Africa Union day with a health walk from the Ayi Mensah toll booth to the Peduase Lodge in the Eastern Region to keep staff of the company and their families fit.
The 13-kilometer walk saw staff of Zoomlion and other subsidiary companies from the Jospong Group, walk for good health.
Ghana’s fitness ambassador, Miss Beatrice Afful (B-the Bully) walked along with staff and led staff through some aerobics session to help reduce the risks of heart diseases, high blood pressure and type -2 diabetes.
The Managing Director of Zoomlion Ghana limited, Mrs Florence Larbi, who was in a short address indicated Zoomlion’s commitment to keeping Africa clean, green and healthy.
She added that Zoomlion as one of Africa’s leading waste management company believes that a united continent of Africa developing its own capacity to solve its own problem, is the surest way to unearth the huge prospects of the continent.
She urged Ghanaians to adhere to environmental cleanliness and develop positive attitude of keeping the environment clean.
The Corporate Affairs and Communications Director of Zoomlion, Mrs Emma Akyea-Boakye also espoused health benefits of health walks to the body and the need for staff to gain the needed stamina to deliver on the mandate of making Ghana a clean country.
She indicated that the health needs of staff of Zoomlion is paramount hence the organization of such events which brings together health officials to undertake routine health screening for staff.
