Former President Jerry John Rawlings is being laid to rest today, January 27, after four days of funeral activities lined up by the state and his family.
The burial service is currently on-going at the Black Star Square in Accra and the burial would take place at the Military Cemetery in Burma Camp.
The former statesman died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Thursday, November 12, 2020 and was laid in state at the Accra International Conference Centre since Monday, January 25, 2021.
The burial service is attended by President Nana Akufo-Addo, Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and some heads of states in the sub-region.
Despite Covid-19 protocols, the burial service is attracting hundreds of Ghanaians from across the country, with many following the event on television and online.
