Pupils of the Grace Preparatory and Junior High School have embarked on a 'Diabetes in Children' campaign as part of its 20th anniversary to mark World Diabetes Day.
The East Legon school’s decision to embark on the campaign a day after World Diabetes Day is in solidarity with a form three pupil.
The diabetic pupil has battled diabetes for 14 years and attempted suicide on two occassions.
The campaign attracted many students, traders, drivers and other private individuals.
In all about 200 pupils and 15 teachers actively participated.
Pupils took turns to explain in detail what the disease is, statistical data on infections worldwide and projections to be achieved by 2030.
They also educated the public on how to test for the diabetes and how to manage it when one is infected.
