Health Inspectors of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly on Wednesday arrested a mechanic shop operator and two others for various offenses at Korle-bu in Accra.
The exercise forms part of the Joycleanghana Campaign in connection with the 'Operation Clean Your Frontage.'
The mechanic shop operator was arrested for obstruction of public walkway.
The mechanic had parked many broken down vehicles on the street which has resulted in the narrowing of the road, thereby creating inconveniences for residents and motorists.
The two culprits are residents of the area who live within an entertainment centre around Ndafa Park, close to the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital. They were charged for sanitation offenses.
The environmental Health Inspectors led by Madam Florence Kuukyi locked up Samps Club Supper market, a drinking spot and a restaurant.
The restaurant’s kitchen staff were operating without medical certificate. The team also discovered expired food items in the kitchen.
The drinking spot operator was also found to have displayed adulterated drinks.
