The Black Stars of Ghana thumped the Pharoahs of Egypt 6-1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in a World Cup qualifying playoffs.

The result is the heaviest defeat suffered by the Egyptians in any qualifier.

Even the  Black Stars players who were the architects of the humiliating defeat of the Pharoahs were themselves shocked.

Waris was easily the thorn in the flesh of the Egyptian defence. His team mates acknowledge his contribution and applaud him fr his efforts.

Waris was miles away from his colleagues shortly after he leapt to head home Ghana's third goal. 

Michael Essien has been swarmed around by his team mates for his solo effort in getting Ghana's second goal. Even though Gomaa eventually knocked the ball into his own net, Essien's solo effort in dummying two Egyptian defence and the goal keeper was absolutely incredible.

 

Sulley Muntari readies to convert the penalty after Waris was brought down in the vital area. The AC Milan star buries the ball for Ghana's 5th goal.

 

The Kumasi stadium was nearly thrown into darkness after a smoky celebration by the Egyptians who had just equalised from a penalty to bring the scores at the time to 2-1. 

The Egyptian goal keeper had to be substituted. He sustained an injury early in the game after he collided with his tormentor-in-chief Abdul Majid Waris.

Egyptian coach, Bob Bradley looks distraught at the post match press conference. His Egyptian world cup dreams have suffered a severe dent and now hangs on the power of a miracle to qualify to Brazil 2014. It is the second defeat he has suffered as coach in the hands of the Black Stars of Ghana.
