Personage Limited, an indigenous wellbeing service company, has launched the first of what it calls lines of wellbeing products – the wellness water filters.
The decision to start with the water filters, according to the company, is borne of the urgent need to save people from dangers of using contaminated water.
Speaking at the launch, Executive Partner of Personage Limited, Ms Harriet Amissah- Arthur said, "Personage was born out of a quest to access quality health for my family and is the result of over 27yrs of studying health literature, trying out recommendations made by experts, and a continuing interest and determination to access the best for my family and I. And now it is time to share with friends and community."
The objective of the company she noted was to “encourage people to take an active interest in their wellbeing,” provide “simplified information on wellbeing in a form that requires little time to act upon,” and enhance “access to wellbeing products locally.”
“At Personage we believe that wellbeing can be easily achieved for the vast majority of people by making correct choices and taking simple proactive steps based on having access to the right information and right products. And we also believe that most people will take action if the road was made simple and straightforward.”
Stressing the need for water filtering products, Ms Amissah-Arthur said “Water is the liquid essence of life, of health and of wellbeing! We enjoy it, we use it, and our bodies absolutely need it. In fact, it is the most important substance that we put in or on our bodies daily. Whether we drink it, bathe or wash in it, our bodies' ability to perform at its best is absolutely dependent upon water. It nourishes our cells, and experts agree that drinking and bathing in clean safe water is truly crucial to optimal health and vitality.”
The 'Wellness water filters', come in five forms; Sport Bottle, the Wellness Jug, the Wellness Kitchen, the Wellness Shower and the Wellness Home, all of which filter water before use.
A former Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Prof. Agyeman Badu Akosa emphasized that centrality of clean water to health of a person.
He stressed the need for people to endeavour to use quality water to improve on their health since "water is fundamental to life because without water there is no life".
The Head of the Department for Microbiology at the University of Ghana Medical School, Dr Patrick Ayeh Kumi, commended the company for their efforts and called on Ghanaians to pay particular attention issues relating their health.
