President John Agyekum Kufuor will address this year's People's Assembly on Friday, January 11, at the Assembly Hall of Sekondi College in the Western Region after which he will field questions from the gathering.
A statement signed for Ms. Oboshie Sai-Cofie, Minister of Information said the President would inspect a Guard of Honour to be mounted by the Second Battalion of Infantry (2BN) and then open a photo exhibition on development projects to be mounted by the Information Services Department.
According to the statement, there would also be an all night musical session by various groups in the region at the Takoradi Justice Grounds.
On Friday, January 4, Muslims thorough the country will say prayers for the nation, while a press soiree for the media is fixed for Friday, January 11.
The statement said, Ministries, agencies and Departments in the Western Region will compete in Fun Games to be held on Thursday, January 10 at newly built Essipong Sports Stadium.
It said People's Assembly would also be held at the Regional and District levels from January 11 to Sunday January 28 2008 and Ministers, Members of Parliament and other high ranking government officials would move out to the regions and districts to interact with the people during these assemblies.

This year's people assembly will be the last by President Kufuor since he leaves office in January 2009 after serving two terms of four years each.
It has been held every year since 2002 and this year's, the seventh a in series, is the third to be held outside Accra.
The Assemblies were held in Cape Coast, Central Region and Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Regions.
