Frank Nana, a 32-year pastor at Tarkwa, on Thursday appeared before a Sekondi District Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing.
The accused, who pleaded not guilty, was remanded to re-appear on February 12 this year.
Prosecuting, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Richard Boatey said the accused stole a digital camera, a DVD video deck, six pieces of men’s cloth and a serving tray all valued at GH¢1,150 belonging to Fiifi Hemans, a musician and designer resident at Accra.
He said sometime in October last year, Hemans, the complainant and other musicians went to perform at a funeral at Kwesimintsim near Takoradi, where the accused who was also at the funeral, introduced himself to the complainant.
He said the complainant gave a digital camera belonging to one Professor Kofi Abraham to the accused to snap some pictures for him.
ASP Boatey said later when the complainant realised he had not collected his camera from the accused, the accused, whose name he did not know at the time, was no where to be found.
He said several announcements were made at the funeral ground on the missing camera but no one came out with any information.
ASP Boatey said later, when the complainant entered his room he also found out that some items had been stolen which compelled him to report the matter to the Chief of the area who asked for announcement to be made.
He said some witnesses informed the complainant that they saw the accused with the items at Tarkwa.
He said the complainant, therefore, reported the matter to the Tarkwa police and the accused was arrested and handed over to the Kwesimintsim Police.
ASP Boatey said the accused led the police to his house at Tarkwa where the items were found and he was charged accordingly.
