A Sogakope Circuit court has begun trial of a pastor for allegedly raping a seventeen year old girl repeatedly over four days last week.
The girl's family alleges that Pastor Prince Doe Senior of the Universal Body of Christ Church in Togo offered to heal the girl and took her to a prayer camp.
But instead of healing her, the family says he took her to his house in an isolated area at Ada-Nkasea where he allegedly raped the girl several times.
The Tongu Divisional Police Commander in Sogakope, Stephen Anyan, says the pastor has been charged with rape and attempted rape.
In court yesterday, he pleaded not guilty and remains in custody. The case has been adjourned to August 27.
