Kwesi Esua, a 29-year old driver from Gomoa Buduburam near Kasoa in the Central Region had a shock of his life when a man who chartered his taxi cap on Thursday from Buduburam to Winneba pulled a pistol on him in the middle of the journey and took away his vehicle.
Nicholas Gasu, Winneba District Commander said that Esua reported to the police on Thursday that between 1800 hours and 1900 hours a passenger chartered his Taxi cap with registration No. GE 4933 W from Buduburam to Winneba to collect a generator.
He said on reaching Gomoa Mpota junction the passenger who was occupying the front seat, ordered the driver at gun point to stop so he obliged.
Mr. Gasu said the passenger asked Esua to surrender the key to him or he would be shot.
He said with the pistol pointed at him, Esua handed over the key to the passenger who left with the vehicle.
Esua later reported the matter to the Winneba Police, who are conducting an investigation, Mr. Gasu said.
