Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey dominated the front pages of Spanish biggest newspapers Marca and AS after scoring a late goal to send Atletico Madrid top of La Liga last Saturday.
The goal was his first in the Spanish top-flight for Diego Simeone’s side which saw them move ahead of champions Barcelona in the La Liga standings
He has received plaudits from both his teammates and club officials but the 22-year old is not getting carried away.
“I am happy with the work I have been doing for the past three years and starting the year on this note makes me very happy,” he told Joy Sports in an exclusive interview
“Staying here at Atletico Madrid and playing with big players will help me to be more aggressive.
“At the moment I will continue working hard and is a dream for very young player to be at the top level so I will never give up.”
