Parliament was forced to adjourned sittings early today, March 10, after it emerged that members have abandoned the Chamber.

The Tamale Central MP, Mutala Ibrahim Mohammed who rose under Order 48 argued that Parliament did not have the required number to transact business.

The First Deputy Speaker, Joseph Osei Owusu who was presiding however observed that a 10-minute interval to be given to allow the House to constitute a quorum.

Deputy Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo Markin also impressed upon the Mr Owusu to allow for business to continue till members of the House contribute to a statement delivered by the Afigya Kwabre North MP Collins Adomako Mensah.

After close to 20 minutes, the House could not meet the quorate number as the head count of MPs present were 41.
