Sammy Gyamfi, National Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on the Nana Addo and Bawumia-led administration to vacate the presidency, Jubilee House.
Speaking at a press briefing on Sunday morning, Mr Gyamfi asserted that the NDC has won the presidential election and is making significant progress in the parliamentary races.
He urged the NPP to accept defeat and vacate the state office to allow the new NDC government to assume office in early 2025.
“You have lost, and it is time to pack your things and leave Jubilee House,” he said at the press conference.
Mr Gyamfi also appealed to the Electoral Commission (EC) to declare the results promptly to prevent further unrest across the country.
At least one person has lost their life in the Ashanti Region, and others have sustained injuries in clashes between supporters of the two main parties, the NDC and the NPP, in some constituencies.
“Please, Madam (EC Chairperson), do the needful, and direct your officers to fast-track the process,” Sammy Gyamfi urged.
The NDC is leading in both the presidential and parliamentary elections, according to provisional results.
Sammy Gyamfi further called on the nation’s Civil Society Organisations, including the media, to intervene and encourage the EC to announce the election outcome.
