The Member of Parliament for Sekondi and also an NPP presidential hopeful, Papa Owusu Ankomah says he will contest and win the NPP flagbearership to dispel the notion that nothing good comes out of Sekondi.
Mr. Owusu Ankomah who was born and raised in Sekondi says it is about time people changed their minds about the capabilities of people from the area.
He said this at the inaugural ceremony of the Orthodox Anglican Church in Ghana popularly known in Sekondi as SS Peter and Paul Church.
The church, which started as the Church of Saints (SS) Peter and Paul the Apostles on July 30 2006, received its formal certificate of affiliation from the Orthodox Anglican Communion on Easter Sunday, April 8 2007.
The orthodox Anglican Communion is one of the first of such communions outside the See of Canterbury.
The Western Regional Minister, A.E Amoah on his part called on the church to establish a fund that will help members who cannot afford to register for the NHIS.
An inaugural fee was planted by the Archbishop and Primate of the Orthodox Anglican Church in the United States, the Most Reverend Dr Scott Earl Mclaughlin. He was happy that the branch of the church has been established.
