Former national youth striker Ransford Osei is facing an anxious wait to see if Bloemfontein Celtic will hand him a contract after undergoing trials with the South African side.
The 20-year-old highly-rated youngster spent three days training with the last week after recovering from injury.
Osei, who last played for Spanish side Granada, will know his fate with Bloemfontein Celtic in the coming days.
“I can confirm that Osei trained with Bloemfontein Celtic last week and a decision about his future will be decided soon,” Osei’s agent Pascalis Tountouris told MTNFootball.com exclusively.
The striker was rated as one of Ghana’s players for the future in 2007 when he won the U17 World Cup Silver Shoe award.
He joined Israeli side Maccabi Haifa in 2009 before clinching a loan move to Dutch club Twente.
Injuries and serious competition for places in the clubs he joined denied him the opportunity of releasing his full potential.
He spent the past three months in a hospital in Durban treating his troublesome knee and his agent is confident the youngster has got a chance to revive his career.
“Osei has been recovering from injury in Durban and he is now fully fit for the challenges ahead,” Tountouris said.
Following his heroics at the youth international tournaments, the striker was named in Ghana’s squad for the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.
He didn't appear in any of the matches. Ghana won silver in that tournament.
He was part of the Ghana squad that won the U20 World Cup in 2009.
