Opoku Ware SHS has advanced to the quarter-final stage by eliminating Agogo State College and Zabzugu SHS in the one-eighth stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) on Monday at the University of Ghana.
Opoku Ware SHS won the afternoon contest by beating Agogo State College with 8 points and Zabzugu SHS with 29 points.
The valiant contestants who represented Opoku Ware SHS were Richmond Kyei Marfo and Noble Asamoah. The two participants gave a splendid performance by leading each round in the contest.

Agogo State College, located in the Ashanti region was represented by Michael Daffour and Joseph Mensah.
Abdulai Abdul- Latif and Abdul- Rahaman Hamadu represented Zabzugu SHS.
Agogo State College and Opoku Ware SHS contended fiercely in the first round of the contest. Opoku Ware School and Agogo State College made 20 and 17 points at the beginning of the contest. Zabzugu SHS followed both schools with 3 points.
Moving on to the second round, Zabzugu SHS managed to score a point leaving them with 4 points. Opoku Ware SHS led this round with 23 points followed by Agogo State College with 19 points.

In the third round, Agogo State College came close to taking the lead in the contest. It made 25 points with Opoku Ware School still in the lead with 27 points. Zabzugu secured 7 marks in this round.
Opoku Ware School secured 40 marks in the fourth round of the competition. Agogo State College and Zabzugu SHS made 35 and 17 marks respectively.
At the end of the contest, Opoku Ware SHS made a win with 46 points. Agogo State College followed with 38 points on the score table. Zabzugu SHS did not gain any point in the fifth round and secured 17 points as the contest ended.
