Kotoko General Manager Samuel Opoku Nti has confirmed his intention to go for a slot on the Ghana Football Association's Executive Committee.
Following the FA Presidential elections on Tuesday, the next headline grabber is the ExCo polls.
“I feel l have the requisite qualification to stake a claim on Ghana football. And if you have a dream or talent you need a platform to exhibit it. l think this is the best platform for me to show what l can do as far as football is concerned.”
Nti ventured into football administration two years ago when he replaced then Executive Board Chairman, Dr. Kofi Kodua Sarpong.
In that role, he's best known for guiding Kotoko to win first FA Cup and league double in the 2013-14 season. But his playing record has been stellar, as well.
Nti, after several seasons leading the lines at his boyhood club, moved to Swiss giants Servette in 1984. After spending just one season with the club and falling out with the coach, he moved to Ottmar Hitzfeld's FC Aarau, where he spent three seasons.
And then after that, he joined another Swiss side, FC Baden before entering football administration and coaching.
“I have decided to contest and l have planned for it,” told Asempa FM.
The ex-international will contest for one of the six Premier Division slots during September 29 polls.
The Ghana FA Executive Committee is a 22-man body, including the President, six Premier League representatives, four Division One League reps, 10 Regional FA chairmen and one rep from the constituent bodies.
