Accra Great Olympics have appointed experienced midfielder Godwin Atrram as their new Head Coach after parting ways with Yaw Acheampong following the expiration of his two years contract with the club.
Attram, began his career with Accra Great Olympics in 1996 before moving to Dutch club PSV Eindhoven.
Although Godwin Attram has already assumed his position as manager of the Accra-based club, he has told Joy Sports he is not yet done with professional football and would want to follow the steps of Roberto Carlos, Nicholas Anelka and Ryan Giggs who also played for their clubs while coaching them
The new Olympics coach says he will step onto the field if the game calls for his help.
The ex PSV player says he has in-depth knowledge on the game and has further enlightened himself by going through some coaching courses.
“I have been coaching since I was a child. Most of the big players came to player under me,” he told Joy Sports.
“I was young but I was commanding on the field.”
“That’s what gave me the belief I could coach.”
“I have been coaching my own academy for about five years now.”
Attram has set sights on building a formidable team to qualify the Accra giants back to the Premiership.
