Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II, Okyehene, has reiterated his call on Ghanaians to protect the environment for posterity.
Launching this year’s Okyeman Environmental Week in West Akyem District as part of World Environmental Week, Osagyefo Amoatia initiated grasscutter, mushroom and snail farming projects to provide employment and reduce dependence on the vegetation”.
The celebration is under the theme “Green Environment Prolongs Life”.
The annual week long celebration by Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council includes visits to remote areas within Akyem Abuakwa to give a human face to environmental issues that would empower the people to become agents of sustainable and equitable development.
In addition, it promotes changing attitudes towards environmental issues and advocate partnerships to ensure that people enjoyed a safer and more prosperous future.
