Officials of Ghana Hockey are confident of raising the needed 140,000 dollars in time for the hosting of the Africa Hockey Club Championship scheduled for December 9 to 18.
Ghana’s successful hosting of the Africa Hockey Cup of Nations last year, won the country the bid to host this major championship after original hosts Zambia and Uganda pulled out due to lack of funds.
This will be Ghana’s second time hosting the continental club competition and Vice Chairman of the Hockey Association, Richard Akpokavie says his outfit is working to ensure a successful hosting of the event.
The sponsors of the tournament were keeping their word and everything was going according to plan.
