Akuapem South MP, Osei Bonsu Amoah has officially withdrawn from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primary slated for Saturday, January 27.
In a letter addressed to the NPP, Mr OB Amoah expressed his decision not to pursue his ambition for another term in office and requested the party's General Secretary to remove his name from the ballot paper for the upcoming election.
“I write to inform you that I have decided to withdraw as a candidate for the election of a Parliamentary Candidate for the General Elections in 2024 in the Akuapcm South constituency.
“I respectfully request that in accordance with the Public Elections Regulations, 2016, C.I. 94, my name should be deleted on the ballot paper for the election. I am most grateful and count on your cooperation.”
With OB Amoah's withdrawal, and should the party accept his decision, contenders for the constituency primary will be Kwame Ofori-Gyau, Eric Samuel Annor-Mensah, and Frank Aidoo, who holds the position of Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapem South.
