The Nzuri Uhai Foundation, a non-profit organisation committed to empowering and transforming the lives of females and the youth, has inaugurated its Rise Up Youth Summit.

The initiative is aimed at inspiring young ones to brace all odds towards achieving their desired goals.

The Foundation led by US-based Ghanaian lawyer, Dionne Akom Tweneboah, is dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders by fostering sustainable change and providing the necessary resources and opportunities to enable them to reach their full potential.

The maiden Summit which was held at the Accra Girls Senior High School in the Greater Accra Region, had over 300 students in attendance.

In an inaugural address, Dionne Akom Tweneboah Esq urged the participants to believe in themselves as they navigate life’s challenges.

She emphasized the critical importance of self-belief in unlocking one’s potential and achieving success, encouraging the students to consider factors such as clarity, commitment, stepping outside their comfort zones, and avoiding the lure of instant gratification when setting goals.

“Believing in yourself is essential to unleashing your talent and achieving greatness,” Mrs. Tweneboah Esq, remarked.

She futher indicated that “without self-belief, no amount of encouragement or motivational words can propel you to the top" and highlighted that success is a personal journey,

“My definition of success might not be your definition, and that’s perfectly fine," she explained.

Dionne Akom Tweneboah affirmed that she had seen transformation among the students at the end of the summit and hopes this transcends into their everyday life.

“My biggest takeaway is seeing their confidence boost. At the start, many students were timid, speaking quietly with their heads down. By the end, they were speaking confidently, sharing their ambitions with pride and determination,” she told the media at the end of the Summit.

A digital marketing professional, Edward Asare lauded the efforts of Mrs. Dionne Akom Tweneboah Esq, stressing the significance of the Summit which he said would contribute to shaping up the future of the beneficiaries.

The students were enthused about the enlightenment provided, adding that it would guide them as they advance the stages of life. They requested for a repeat of the Summit identifying it as essential to their development.

They remarked that nuggets provided at the Summit have transformed them from being shy to becoming confident and bold in every approach in their respective lives.

“At first, I was shy and timid, but because of what she [Mrs. Dionne Akom Tweneboah Esq] told us today, I decided to stand up to speak to the media, and with this, I am certain, I have improved,” a student said.

Another student appreciated the Nzuri Uhai Foundation for inspiring them to believe in themselves, indicating “we want to thank Mrs. Dionne Akom Tweneboah Esq. for what she has done for us. For bringing us this information and inspiring us to rise in what we believe in. We thank her for bringing us such packages because we have really learned a lot.”

The Summit featured an interactive panel discussion led by Digital Marketing Professional, Edward Asare and Founder/CEO of Naaviq Company Ltd, Victoria Naashika Quaye.

Other dignitaries who attended the Rise Up Youth Summit included Ama Hila, Winner of the maiden edition of Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB), and Delasie Dogbey, Founder of LWR Organization and Mindset Coach.

A 10,000-liter water storage reservoir was donated by the Nzuri Uhai Foundation to the school, to exhibit the Foundation’s commitment to the wellbeing of the students.
