District coordinators of the National Youth Employment Programme in the Northern Region have been asked to leave office on Wednesday.
Their dismissal was contained in a letter signed by Abuga Pele, the National Co-ordinator of the programme who said he was acting with respect to a directive from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Confirming the story, Haruna Idrissu, Tamale district NYEP co-ordinator, told Citi News; “I received my letter of dismissal this morning around 9am. I have been asked to prepare my handing over notes and vacate the office by tomorrow July 30.”
“I can confirm that Yendi, Salaga, Bimbilla, Chiriponi and other districts in the Northern Region have all received their letters of dismissal. The letter only stated that we will all be reassigned later.”
