The Ghana-Russia Center for Commerce and Relations (The Center) and the National Youth Authority (NYA) have reaffirmed their commitment to youth empowerment.

At a meeting held at NYA headquarters on Monday, the two stakeholders discussed the need for international collaboration in addressing the challenges and needs faced by young people in the country.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Center, John Aggrey said "Over the years we have played a pivotal role in youth empowerment and shared a range of successful projects that have already had a transformative impact on young Ghanaians."

He added, "These initiatives span various sectors, including education, vocational training, entrepreneurship, and cultural exchanges, offering numerous opportunities for young people to enhance their skills, build careers, and engage in meaningful experiences."

"By combining our resources, expertise, and vision, we aim to prioritise youth development programmes, ensuring that the next generation of Ghanaians is empowered to contribute positively to their communities and this nation," Mr. Agrey told the management of NYA during the brief engagement.

The engagement was used to extend congratulations to the new NYA boss, Osman Abdulai Ayariga.

Mr. Abdulai Ayariga expressed his appreciation for The Center’s efforts. He admitted that their partnership is crucial in nurturing the potential of Ghana’s youth.

He said the NYA’s mandate aligns closely with The Center's agenda, focusing on engaging young people in ways that develop their skills, creativity, and employability.

Mr. Abdulai Ayariga believes that the collaboration exemplifies the "power of international cooperation" in nurturing youth potential and underscores the importance of creating opportunities for young people to flourish in all aspects of life.

The two entities believe that empowering youth through education, skill-building, and direct involvement in decision-making processes is essential for creating a prosperous future for Ghana.

They aim to build innovative programmes that will address contemporary challenges and equip young people with the tools needed to thrive in today’s ever-changing world.

This visit emphasised the shared vision of both entities to foster youth development through impactful programmes and initiatives.
