St. Monica’s SHS will be missing out on contesting at the national stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz after the school failed to secure a slot at this year’s championship.
The school conceded to a formidable opponent, Kofi Agyei SHS, who serenaded them to the exit door of the competition.
Kofi Agyei SHS will be making their first appearance on the national stage after several years of attempts.

Students and management of the school have longed for this red-letter day after eons of hard work, perseverance and commitment.
Their victory was met with tears of joy as some students sobbed to express their gratitude to their deity for granting them a historic win.
The school beat the ladies from Mampong with a 17-point gap to secure their slot at the national championships.

Munche ended the contest with 29 points while Dadease Agric SHS and Dompoase SHS trailed them with 27 points each.
The school qualified with St. Joseph Seminary SHS, Islamic SHS-Kumasi and KNUST SHS.
St. Joseph Seminary SHS after having an opportunity to be called back to the competition last year, officially qualified for the nationals after defeating Asare Bediako SHS,

The school in their last participation defeated one-time champions of the NSMQ, St. Thomas Aquinas to book their 1/8th stage slot.
But, they couldn’t match the blazing furnace of their competitors at that stage and were sent packing.
Islamic SHS have for the past two years failed to qualify, but they are positive of a new dawn to restore their record of being part of the seeded school for next year’s competition.
